Change to Issue Request and Device Registration Deadlines

The outbreak of the virus that causes COVID-19, and the relating measures put in place to contain the outbreak by various governments, have resulted in significant constraints on many I-REC Registrants, Participants, and Issuers. I-REC Services B.V. requested that the International REC Standard Foundation Board acknowledge these unique circumstances as a force majeure event and take action to mitigate the impact on the market. As a result the following actions have been taken:

  • The Residual Mix Deadline (RMD) has been extended from May 15th to August 15th. This means that production from 2019 can still be included in I-REC Issue Requests until August 15th 2020, a three-month extension. This is to ease the difficulties with 2019 production data collection and to support Registrants and Issuers with some additional flexibility as to the deadline.
  • Where there have been difficulties in obtaining necessary evidence or documents, Production Device registrations and Issue Requests may continue to be accepted for dates on or after 1 January 2019.
  • The RMD of August 15th will be reviewed by the Board of the Foundation no later than June 26th. At that time a decision will be made whether the agreed provision will be extended beyond August 15th.
Despite this change to the deadlines, Registrants are urged to submit Device Registrations and Issue Requests as early as possible.

Should you have any queries, please contact either your Local Issuer or the I-REC Services Helpdesk helpdesk@irecservices.com.

General Information

The International REC Standard (I-REC Standard) was developed to address requirements for a robust mechanism through which energy products from renewable sources can be certified through the electricity supply chain. If you do not have an account and are interested in knowing more about The I-REC Standard please contact The I-REC Standard organisation via their website www.irecstandard.org.
This site provides the primary data portal for Registrants and Participants in the I-REC market. Public activity reports may be directly accessed from this site, subject to the Terms of Use. Other than for the public reports, all services through this site require an active user account.

Most functions of the Registry have help text available, accessible by clicking on the Help icon above the menu. The user manual can be downloaded from the following link. User Manual
